“ Thunderbird Pies is the BEST pizza I have ever had. I am in Dallas for a conference. Originally from Richmond, VA. They have officially spoiled me. When I return home, no more chain pizza for me. We had The Budd and added caramelized onion, mushrooms, pepperonis and peppers. I could taste EVERYTHING. The crust was soft and crisp as well. It is a must try ”

“ We went to Thunderbird Pies today for lunch Saturday and it was fantastic! We like Cane Rossa and Zolis and since it is the same owner, we though we would give it a try. I wanted to go someplace casual where I could wear tights, and no makeup. This fit the bill. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table. Plus, only 5 minutes from our house. We got The Artichokes for an App and The Drip Pan Pizza for a main. The artichokes were so yummy. Crispy little pieces of artichokes w a parmesan batter and an underlying taste of lemon. It came with an aioli that was delish. Tart, a tiny bit of spice and mayo based. Wish I could figure out that recipe because I would use it from now on as a dip for any number of things. The pizza was SO GOOD. We are demanding eaters, and sometimes walk away from a restaurant thinking meh. But, this pizza hit on every level. Firstly, it was a bargain! It is a thick pizza with loads of wonderful toppings. I could only eat half a piece. The sauce was so yummy. It really tasted like fresh tomatoes, not an overly cooked sauce. The toppings were amazing. Mushroom, sausage, soppressata, caramelized onion and roasted peppers. All were the best version of that ingredient they could be! The crust was the perfect Detroit style crust, buttery, thick and with those delectable crispy edges. Came out piping hot, and only took maybe 15 minutes. We only could manage 2 total pieces, so we are looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. We will def be back because we want to try all the other menu offerings. The interior is simple, comfortable and ladies, throw a baseball cap on and you wont feel out of place w no makeup. Thank you Thunderbird for a lovely afternoon! ”
“ If you like Cane Rosso, you got to try this place too! More of a retro style joint with an incredible deep dish pie. I got the Frico Suave double sided with Thunder Mifflin on a large. Both were fantastic! The ricotta, caramelized onion and garlic goes so well together ”

“ Gluten free Detroit style pizzas in DFW! Good luck finding anything else even close to this. The gluten free pizza was very good. I will be back. They have beer and wine, but are also BYOB!! It does take a while for the pies to cook, so bring extra beer. ”

Weve already been back since our first visit. We always get one small pizza each and its plenty for the night and leftovers the next day. Its quick service so youll order at the counter. Take your seat and Ill bring it to you. They also have ice cream, which we havent tried, but it seems like everyone else has. ”
